The increasing demand of creative job roles in the non creative industries too has made us thinking and
come to conclusion that creative education largely encompasses students utilizing their creativity
and logical thinking to bring out fresh thoughts which have a meaning and relevance. It requires
them to be able to face challenges, think independently and be adaptable rather than being
instructed to simply learn whatever was taught. Students this way get to figure out how to develop
their capacity to track down different answers for an issue like a divergent thinker. Divergent
thinking refers to concocting different unique ideas, but there is no method of developing this
expertise mainly because of the originality of the idea and the restricted scientific knowledge on
creativity.
Today, there is a combination of arts, expressions and innovativeness with advanced and virtual
technology making a totally new viewpoint. Development and ideation are presently seen as

The number of creative occupations in non-creative organizations is likely to be more than within

An All-India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) survey report 2018-19 shows that the
enrolments in ordinary streams have seen a decrease over the most recent five years. However, if
we see creative courses like fashion designing and technology, fine arts etc.; And that's only the
tip of the iceberg, one can see that takers across different disciplines have expanded over the
most recent two years. An aggregate of 53,213 students took up different Fine Arts programs in
2018-19 as against 52,414 in 2017-18. Designers carry exceptional worth to practically all
organisations in the world. But the current arrangement of schooling rarely prepares the students
for pursuing creative courses in the future or for the difficulties that they might come across. In a
more pragmatic sense, the most important components of a designer’s know-how and working
processes are rarely taught. To put forth changes in the current system it requires a significant
long-haul effort to foster a foundation of design and educational practices. Nonetheless, we need
certain measures at earlier levels of education as well.
As we do at Sri Sukhmani Institute of Design ,we need to create knowledge incubators. In a period
of fading boundaries with respect to the amount of knowledge one can have in any domain, we
must focus on how higher education in India may progress in the coming years. Firstly, it needs to
rise above the limitations of the fixed educational program and investigate unexplored domains,
especially in the creative field. Advanced education ought to be relevant and in consonance with
its current times, like day-to-day issues and concerns, industry dynamics etc. If these requisites
are met, a college then becomes a knowledge incubator that will drive this change we merely
envision today. In the midst of fast technological disruption and radical changes in the regular
format of teaching-learning, the capacities of leaders in advanced education should totally fit into
the required framework in order to provide correct guidance to students. Effective leadership with
the futuristic approach is the way to take the creative education to a higher platform.
With the increase in number of creative job roles in non-creative sectors, it is quite evident that
education in creative fields like Fashion, Interiors , Product and Communication Design needs to
be taken as a serious and scaling up segment of Higher Education.
